Our Mission
Pear Tree Audiology is an independent hearing care service created to put patients’ wellbeing, comfort and safety first. Founded by a multidisciplinary team consisting of an experienced audiology clinician and a dental nurse with specialisation in oral surgery, bringing together complementary skills in patient care, infection control and clinical precision.
The founders’ intention is to look after every customer as an individual, offering honest advice, clear treatment options and safe, evidence-based procedures in clean, well-equipped settings. Drawing on both audiology expertise and surgical nursing experience, they focus on creating a calm, reassuring environment where patients feel heard, respected and fully informed at every step.
Pear Tree Audiology is designed as a safe alternative for those who may feel anxious in traditional clinical environments or who have had uneven experiences elsewhere. By combining specialist hearing knowledge with a strong background in surgical standards and patient support, the founders are committed to long-term relationships, protecting hearing health and giving people confidence in the care they receive.
Our Expertise
Mario Pereira is a dedicated Hearing Aid Dispenser, Qualified from Anglia Ruskin University - Cambridge, with registration from both BSHAA and the HCPC, committed to delivering safe, evidence-based hearing care. With specialist training in ear wax removal from Aston University, Mario combines clinical expertise with a calm, reassuring approach to every appointment.
Professional background
Mario has extensive experience in both clinic-based and domiciliary audiology, supporting patients in traditional practice settings as well as in the comfort of their own homes. Over more than seven years of running an audiology business, he has prescribed and fitted hearing aids, provided rehabilitation, and guided patients through their hearing care journey with clarity and compassion.
Leadership and training
Passionate about developing others, Mario has trained colleagues to achieve similar professional qualifications, always setting high expectations for clinical standards and patient care. He has also led a team through successful IQIPS accreditation, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality improvement, governance, and best practice in audiology services.
Values and approach
Patient safety and high clinical standards are at the heart of Mario’s work, and every decision is guided by what is safest and most beneficial for the person in front of him. He believes in taking the time to listen, explain clearly, and tailor care to each individual, making audiology a deeply rewarding profession that allows him to help people hear – and live – better.
Personal interests
Outside the clinic, Mario is a self-published author who enjoys writing as a creative outlet alongside his clinical work. He loves skiing and travel, and finds great satisfaction in supporting and encouraging others in both their personal and professional development.
