Hearing Aid Aftercare

Looking After Your Hearing aids

Everyday cleaning

Maintaining your hearing aids in good working order starts with daily cleaning. As soon as you remove them from your ears, before placing them in the case or charger, gently remove any excess ear wax from the dome or wax guard while it is still warm from your body temperature. Daily cleaning helps keep hearing aids working well and reduces the risk of wax build-up causing blockages or malfunction.

Wax guards and Domes

Wax guards and domes will need to be changed at some point, although there is no fixed date for replacement. Regular changes can help extend the life of your hearing aids. Because the ear is a harsh environment, with moisture, wax, sweat, and daily wear, replacing these parts regularly helps keep the receivers clear and sound quality consistent for your busy lifestyle.

Receivers

Receivers should also be looked after during cleaning. Make sure the wire is not twisted and that all connections are secure. Although these wires are designed to be durable, repeated twisting and handling can cause them to break over time. Please note that damage caused by wear and tear is not usually covered under warranty.
